Just 2 days away from leaving to go to Rome! My flight is at 5:25 p.m. Monday in Newark Airport via Alitalia arriving in Rome Fiumicino Airport at around 7:45 a.m. Italian time.
Basically all packed up with only last minute things to pack early Monday. I weighed one of my bags and it was about 40 lbs. which is amazing considering I have a limit of 50 lbs. per bag. Hopefully our scale wasn't completely off or I'll have to make some last minute decisions at the airport and figure out what I can live without.
Until Monday I have to wait which is killing me ... I'm ready to go!

2 weeks before arriving in Roma!
After refreshing my g-mail every five minutes for the past week I finally got my housing assignment e-mail today!! I'm so happy that I ended up getting an apartment (which i preferred) with Nicole (whom I requested). My address for the next 4 months will be Via Goffredo Mameli, 40, 00153 Roma, Italy which is located in Trastevere.
I figured out that the walk to the IES center will be around 25 minutes long and the walk to Campo de' Fiori (which I have heard is a popular place to go out in) is only a 15 minute walk!
Although I have finished the first level of Rosetta Stone in Italian the past month, I am a extremely nervous about me speaking Italian(although Rome is used to tourists and many people speak English there).
After saying goodbye to so many friends at Penn State during syllabus week, I am ready to leave New York and go to Italy! The only thing that needs to be done is packing, which may be more difficult than learning Italian!
I'll try to update the blog as much as possible and upload pictures - because God knows I'll be taking a million there (as usual).
